For years, we have been looking to digitalize our yearbooks to make them more accessible to our alumni, faculty, and current students. The days of searching through a physical yearbook to look for a specific picture or person are over. Bound Book Scanning makes each (yearbook) file searchable by keyword, which in turn makes searching for something specific in a yearbook a breeze. This feature alone is priceless to any organization looking to digitalize their yearbook catalog. Thanks again!

We are extremely thankful to Bound Book Scanning, which not only delivered high-resolution scans of our yearbooks (80+) and magazines (300+), but also picked up, returned, and preserved each and every publication. The digital files were perfect for our needs and are now housed on our website for our constituents to explore and reminisce. I highly recommend any organization that has printed archives of yearbooks, magazines, or newsletters to preserve them in digital form. Our constituents, especially those who lost or never had the publications, are extremely happy that we took on such a project. We are happy to speak with any organization who has questions or concerns. Bound Book Scanning has been an excellent resource for our school. Their process of non-destructive scanning helped us preserve physical copies of our yearbooks on campus while giving us the flexibility to make digital versions available to alums for reunions and other purposes. Their process is simple and cost effective. We have scanned over 60 yearbooks with them. The scanned copies are searchable and the photos are capable of being used on social media and on name tags for events. Bound Book Scanning customer service is responsive and helpful. Thank you for helping us preserve our history in a digital form.

We worked with Bound Book Scanning for the first time for the large undertaking of digitizing all of our yearbooks that spanned from the 1920’s to the present. At first we thought of doing it in house, but luckily came across Bound Book and they saved our project! In no way could we ever have done such a beautiful job with such speed and at such a low cost. Original materials were handled with the utmost care, and being relatively local, Bound Book offered to pick up and drop off the entire collection! Not to mention how thrilled alumni are to be able to search the images to find themselves or another alum. I couldn’t recommend them highly enough.

The decision to scan 60 years worth of yearbooks was a huge one. We knew that the alumni would like it but there were many other uses of the the scanned books that we had not counted on. The guidance department uses them to verify attendance and co-curricular participation of past students. Institutional advancement uses them to research alumni giving and admissions uses them to promote the institutional history of the school. The pictures are used in the current yearbooks in then and now layouts and the old advertisements show the businesses that have supported the school for many years. We needed a company that would perform this task with care and with a focus on professional non-destructive scanning, yearbook scanning service is that company. The Alumni Association of Franklin High School, Inc (a non-profit corporation) voted to have our yearbooks scanned so that they can be viewed on-line. Also, we are celebrating the 200th year of Franklin High School 1820-2020. We researched several companies that scan yearbooks and decided on Yearbook Scanning Service. There were several reasons, the main one being the discount they gave to use for the number of books scanned and that we were a non-profit organization. We had scanned over 100 books. In addition, their scanning techniques concerning the scanning of the inside edge of the page was most impressive. The service they provide was excellent. We will continue to use Yearbook Scanning service for upcoming volumes of our yearbooks. For examples visit: http://franklinalumni.org/?page%20id=87

The Warldaw-Hartridge School was looking for a way to save it’s rich history going back to 1882. One of the projects was to digitize the yearbooks, magazines and newspapers through the many years the school has served its students and make the accessible to Alumni via our website. Many of the yearbooks were falling apart with no backup copies. Bound Book Scanning handled the project in a very professional manner. They scanned every publication and returned the books in the same condition we sent them. Since that time, we have used the scans as a tool to reach Alumni and share with them yearbooks that they have lost. Also, due to the high quality scans, we have been able to collect pictures from the yearbooks to highlight alumni in other publications. We highly recommend this service.

There is not a day that goes by in our alumni office that I don’t open one of our digital yearbooks. For example, we pull photos for use on name tags and in PowerPoint shows at reunions. We feature parents’ school photos from decades ago alongside their child’s current student photo as part of our legacy breakfast. We snag sports photos for our Hall of Fame induction dinner presentation. We verify names, addresses, club and sports team memberships, as well as sibling relationships as part of our records verification. There are many other uses as well, but equally importantly, we have preserved the yearbooks in the event that any of the hard copy versions are lost or damaged. This is an invaluable service and every school should be scanning their yearbooks!
